This is the coil pot that I made with my group. We rolled clay into long, round pieces and stacked them on top of each other in different ways to create a tall and unique structure. To create this project it was important that we mastered the skill of slipping and scoring appropriately so that the coils would stay together and look neat. The way we designed our coil pot really emphasizes space, especially empty space between coils. The different ways we applied shape to the project helped create this space. The way that we organized our different types of coils creates pattern in the project. Due to the large amount of empty space in the center of the project there is an emphasis on the shapes used in that area. The more twisted coils towards the top of the project, along with the brown glaze, give our pot a very natural feel, reminding viewers of twisted vines in trees.

This bowl has a very rounded shape and is glazed 2 dark yet contrasting values. A new skill I practiced while creating this bowl was compressing the lip and footing. The glaze I used on the bowl gives it a very smooth texture. The two contrasting colors create a sense of unity as it emphasizes the symmetry of the project. The dark values and contrast create a mysterious feel to the bowl.
