This is my planter project, consisting of a tall and fairly straight top and a short, shallow bottom. In order to create this project I practiced opening twice. The outside of the project has a very dark value which contrast nicely with the light value on the inside of the project. The second opening of the project was made a specific size so that it would be accurate in proportion to the rest of the project, creating a sense of balance. The simplicity of the glaze allows you to focus on the more complex form. The sharp edges on this project give it a very stiff and rigid feel.
