These are my 4 bowls. All 4 are about the same size and are fairly rounded with a nice lip. In order to make these bowls I used the rib tool to round the edges out and I practiced compressing the lip to make sure it was sturdy. I complemented the simple shape of the bowls by giving them a simple glaze. I used one shade of glaze and dipped one edge on each of the bowls in white to create a slight contrast in the colors. The simplicity of the form and the cool glaze colors create a very relaxed and natural feel to these bowls.

This is my set of theme projects consisting of a small bowl, a small plate and a bigger plate. In order to make my plates I had to practice using the number seven tool in order to trim the base so they would be easier to foot. For all of my projects I utilized line and pattern by using a stick tool to carve rings into the inside of the projects. Doing this added more texture to the surface of the projects and made them more interesting. They way that I used the same pattern on all of the projects creates a sense of unity between them. I think the theme through out all of my work tends to be use of lines, texture and natural colors, as shown in these 3 projects.
This is my hand and wheel project. It is very tall and wide with a narrow neck. In order to make this project I had to practice choking and slipping and scoring. In order to create balance I had to make sure the dots that I added to the top of the project were in proportion to the rest of the vase. By glazing the entire thing white and adding a pop of color on the dots I was able to emphasize them on the project. The colors I used on the dots give it a fun, summery kind of feel.
This is the last photo I have of my team's franken pot, it got lost. This is a very tall project consisting of 3 cylinders put on top of each other. In order to create this project I had to practice using the calipers in order to make sure all of the pieces would fit together. I also had to practice joining multiple pieces together on the wheel by slipping and scoring. During this project I also had to practice working with my team mates in order to make sure everyone was contributing and able to make their best work.
This is my second large bowl. It has a curved shape with a rounded lip. In order to make this project I had to practice the skill of using the rib tool to pull the walls out and make them rounded. The simple form of this bowl is complimented by how I kept the glazing simple, creating a sense of balance. I used red clay to make the bowl so I just used a clear glaze to create a smooth texture and enhance the red color. The reddish/brown color along with the rough texture of the red clay gives the bowl a rustic feel.
This is my first larger sized bowl. It is a fairly tall bowl with rounded edges and a flat lip. In order to create this project I really focused on compressing the lip to make sure that as it continued to pull the walls and curve the edges that the lip stayed sturdy and thick. Value is shown in my project as I used contrasting shades to make the project more interesting. Because the different values are separated into equal sections it also creates a sense of balance between them. The cooler shades of glaze that I used create a very natural and relaxed feel to the project.
This is my set in lid project with a simple, straight base and matching lid. In order to make this project I had to practice opening twice and also using the calipers in order to create a lid that's the correct size for my pot. I glazed my project with multiple different values of the same color to create contrast and make the project more interesting. By glazing the lid two of the same colors used on the base it creates a sense of unity among the project. The different shades of blue/green that I used create a very calm, natural feel to the project.
For extra credit I made a bowl. This bowl is very tall and has fairly straightened edges. To create this project I practiced using a rib tool to pull the walls out into a rounded/widened shape. The round form of my project is emphasized by the line of color on the lip. By using the same color and type of line on the inside of the bowl as I did on the lip creates a sense of harmony throughout the entire project. The dark brown glaze and speckled effect of the clear glaze create a rustic feeling.
